Basic Pizza Dough
1 kg all purpose or cake flour
1 packet (10gr) instant yeast
5 ml Salt
about 650 ml lukewarm water
30 ml olive oil
Mix the flour salt and yeast together in a big bowl.
Make a hole in the middle of the flour, add the oil and start incorporating the water little by little. Keep adding water until all the flour is incorporated and forms a soft dough.
Take out of the bowl and knead on a floured surface until smooth and elastic.
You can also do this entire process in a stand mixer with a dough hook.
Place the dough in a bowl that is lightly coated with oil, cover with plastic or a damp cloth and leave to rise for about an hour or until doubled in size.
Once doubled, take out, knead again to punch out air and start shaping your pizza
Form the dough into 8 balls ( or 6 if you want big pizzas)
Roll out the dough into the shape you would like for your pizza
We recommend pre-baking your bases to make it easier to handle. Do this by baking your bases in a very hot oven (200°C) or more, until it starts to go brown.
Now add sauce and toppings and bake again until everything is nice and toasted and ready to eat. If you have cheese on your pizza it should be melted and perfect!
